The selected works from each edition of JTTP are presented in broadcasts and concerts in Canada and abroad. 1[1. See this year’s JTTP event calendar below.] Additionally, all submissions can be heard anytime on the JTTP webpages and in Sonus.

Each year’s selected works are presented in dedicated broadcasts by Canadian and international Media Partners. Additionally, since the 15th edition of the project (JTTP 2014), live presentations are coordinated to spotlight these young and/or emerging electroacoustic artists and their achievements. AKOUSMA presents the 1st Prize winner annually in Montréal and, through collaborations with a growing list of illustrious partners, 2[2. JTTP 2014 @ 21st Festival DME (Seia PT); JTTP 2015 @ KONTAKTE Biennale (AdK, Berlin DE); JTTP 2016 @ CMMAS (Morelia MX); JTTP 2017 @ Sea of Sound Festival (Edmonton CA); JTTP 2018 @ Sound Junction (Sheffield UK); JTTP 2019 @ SIAL Sound Studios (RMIT, Melbourne AUS); JTTP 2020 @ BRRRZK! These public presentations of JTTP works by our partners are an excellent complement to the extensive prize packages offered each year, and help the CEC promote the work of young / emerging electroacoustic artists living in or from Canada on the international stage.

RADIO: If You Got Ears — Corina MacDonald

Corina MacDonald launches the JTTP 2021 events season with a show dedicated to the Prizewinners and Thematic Award recipients of the 22nd edition of Jeu de temps / Times Play. Join Corina for two hours of electroacoustic works on If You Got Ears (CKUT 90.3 FM, Montréal). JTTP is an annual project coordinated by the CEC to support the work of young and/or emerging electroacoustic artists from / living in Canada.

With works by Pablo Geeraert / Joseph Sims, Diego Bermudez Chamberland, Antoine Lussier, Jean-Philippe Jullin, Colin Frank and Marie Anne Bérard.

If You Got Ears. A weekly, two-hour voyage through various types of sonic experimentation, ranging from noise to electroacoustics, the programme digs deep into the goldmine of musique actuelle and all its sprawling tangents. Sometimes loud and aggressive, sometimes minimal and minutely detailed, but always bridging the gap between the challenging and the familiar. Use your ears every Wednesday 12:00–14:00 on CKUT 90.3 FM (Montréal QC).

¡EN ESPAÑOL! Works by the Prizewinners and Thematic Award recipients from Jeu de temps / Times Play 2021 will be presented over the course of two editions of UNDÆ! Radio. JTTP 2021 is the 22nd edition of the project coordinated by the Canadian Electroacoustic Community. JTTP is an annual project coordinated by the CEC to support the work of young and/or emerging electroacoustic artists from / living in Canada.

UNDÆ! Radio. A space on Radio Círculo dedicated to electroacoustic music and æsthetics, to all tendencies in sound art and to innovative music realized with modern technologies. Over the course of two editions of Electric Sense (CIUT 89.5 FM, Toronto), long-time JTTP supporter James Bailey features the Prizewinners and Thematic Award recipients from Jeu de temps / Times Play 2021. Tune your ears in here to hear the latest generation of Canadian electroacoustic artists. JTTP is an annual project coordinated by the CEC to support the work of young and/or emerging electroacoustic artists from / living in Canada.

Electric Sense. Devoted to all that is new and creative in the exploration of sound, the programme ranges from the tightly composed to the wildly improvised and whatever may be found in between. Traditional instruments to new inventions. Acoustic, electroacoustic, purely electronic, field recordings and found sounds. Melodic to abrasive to totally indescribable. Expansive Prairie Skies draws inspiration from the wide, open vistas that surround Winnipeg. It’s the opposite of feeling hemmed in. It’s the soundtrack to a late-night drive beneath a bounty of constellations: contemporary classical and actual classical, avant-garde and musique concrète, noise and ambient music, jazz and more jazz. Pablo Geeraert and Joseph Sims’ 2021 collaboration, Esquisse d’une Sandbox (1st prize in JTTP 2021), features on the programme of the 6th annual Vivier InterUniversitaire. The ViU is an ongoing collaboration between the Université de Montréal, McGill and Concordia Universities, and the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal to support the work of up-and-coming performers and composers. JTTP is an annual project coordinated by the CEC to promote the work of young and/or emerging electroacoustic artists from or living in Canada.

RADIO: Foldover — Tom Lopez

Over two editions of his weekly show Foldover (WOBC 91.5 FM, Oberlin OH), Tom Lopez presents works by the Prizewinners and Thematic Award recipients from the most recent edition of Jeu de temps / Times Play (JTTP), the CEC’s annual project supporting the work of young and/or emerging electroacoustic artists from or living in Canada. Works by Pablo Geeraert / Joseph Sims, Diego Bermudez Chamberland, Antoine Lussier, Jean-Philippe Jullin, Colin Frank and Marie Anne Bérard.

Foldover. Sending out strange textures, flavours and scents of electroacoustic music. Artists vary from esoteric academics to under-the-radar mavericks. Guaranteed to be something you’ve never heard before! Hosted by Tom Lopez, Wednesdays 17:00–18:00 on WOBC 91.5 FM Alternative Radio (Oberlin OH).
